High turnout for popular mushroom course

[Translate to English:] Großer Andrang beim Pilzlehrgang

The currently running mushroom identification course attracts great interest among the people of Halle. About 90 interested laypersons regularly come to the institute to follow the lectures of mushroom expert Wolfgang Brandt. Under his professional guidance, the course participants are systematically introduced to the realm of mushrooms and learn interesting facts about their diversity, appearance, occurrence and way of life. On 13 May the first mushroom excursion into the Dölauer Heide takes place, during which the interested persons can test their knowledge for the first time. The lecture series ends on June 26 and will be continued in the fall with further lectures and excursions into the local forests.

The course was initiated by the mycology section of the Pilzfreunde Halle. The specialist group wants to inspire especially the younger generation for the realm of mushrooms. Their hope is to attract new candidates to the local guild of mushroom experts. Those who can reliably distinguish edible and poisonous mushrooms have the opportunity to take an exam with Wolfgang Brandt to become a mushroom identification expert.
