The research group Biochemical Genetics of Metabolic Plasticity aims to uncover genes involved in (i) metabolic adaptation to varying environments and (ii) the biosynthetic pathways of natural products.

Potential Aspects for Research Intern, Bachelor and Master thesis:

  • Targeted and untargeted metabolomics (GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, TLC, …)
  • Metabolic plasticity (Genotype x Environment Interactions)
  • Gene discovery (metabolic genome wide association studies)
  • Molecular validation (cloning, overexpression, VIGS, CRISPR)
  • Technological advances (spatial metabolomics, …)

If one of the aspects is raising your interests, please feel free to get in contact (mustafa.bulut(at)ipb-halle.de).

For PhD candidates and Postdocs:

We are always open for interested PhD and postdoc candidates who want to apply for their own fellowships (DAAD, Walter Benjamin, Humboldt, Marie-Curie, EMBO, …) to join the research group. Please feel free to reach out (mustafa.bulut(at)ipb-halle.de).
