IPB Management / Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is acting and making decisions as a collegial body. The IPB BoD is made up of the research department heads and the Administrative Director.

One of the research department heads is appointed by the Board of Trustees to act as Managing Director normally for a period of 5 years. The Administrative Director is also appointed by the Board of Trustees for the same time period. The Managing Director and the Administrative Director form the institute’s Management as an organ of the Board of Directors and represent the IPB in court and out of court as stipulated in the IPB standing rules.

The Managing Director is the public representative of the Foundation. He/she is the chairperson of the Board of Directors and manages the current IPB research affairs. The Administrative Director manages the current administrative affairs on his/her own authority within the scope of shared responsibility. He/she is also the IPB budget representative.
