Directions for Visitors

Directions from Halle Main Station:

By car:

From “Riebeckplatz” take “Bundesstraße 80” (direction Halle-Neustadt) and follow the signs for “Universitätsklinikum Kröllwitz” to “Gimritzer Damm”. At the end of the Gimritzer Damms (traffic light) follow the route half right into the Weinbergweg. Turn right at the first crossroad into Wolfgang-Langenbeck-Straße and then right at the first crossing into Kurt-Mothes-Straße. The institute is located on the left at the end of Kurt-Mothes-Straße.

Public Transport:

Before 8 p.m.: From the main station, use tram No. 4 (Tram station in front of main exit) or No. 5 (Tram-Station in Ernst-Kamieth-Straße) direction “Kröllwitz” till stop “Weinberg Campus”. After 8 p.m.: Use tram No. 7 direction "Kröllwitz" till stop “Marktplatz” and transfer to tram No. 94 direction "Kröllwitz“ till stop “Weinberg Campus”. If you stay in No. 7, the tram will take 20 minutes longer.

After exiting at the tram stop „Weinberg Campus“, cross the roads “Heideallee” and “Weinbergweg” and turn left into the street “Weinberg” till you reach the IPB (see directions and campus maps below for futher information). Tram tickets are available in the trams, at ticket vending machines or service offices. For more information about timetables and ticket prices, go to the website of the local tram company HAVAG.

From Airport Leipzig-Halle:

By car:

Take motorway A14 (direction Magdeburg), leave at exit “Halle-Peißen”, follow the “Bundesstraße 100” till “Riebeckplatz", turn to “Bundesstraße 80” and follow the signs for “Universitätsklinkum Kröllwitz”. At the end of the Gimritzer Damm (traffic light) follow the route half right into the Weinbergweg. Turn right at the first crossroad into Wolfgang-Langenbeck-Straße and then right at the first crossing into Kurt-Mothes-Straße. The institute is located on the left at the end of Kurt-Mothes-Straße.

Public transport:

There is a direct rail link from the airport to Halle Main Station.
