Impressionen der Plant Science Student Conference 2017
"Sow your future!" was the motto for the PhD students at this year's Plant Science Student Conference (PSSC) from 6 to 9 June, 2017. The conference by and for students has a long tradition at the two Leibniz Institutes IPB Halle and IPK Gatersleben. This year the IPB welcomed 74 participants. Here are some impressions of the conference.
From June 6 - 9, 2017, the IPB welcomed its guests to the Plant Science Student Conference (PSSC 2017) ...
... with the motto "Sow your future".
Keynote speaker Prof. Jörg Bohlmann came from the University of British Columbia in Canada to give a talk on the biosynthesis of fragrances in sandalwood.
Doctoral students from IPB, IPK and institutions from all over Germany came together...
...to present and discuss...
...their research in lectures...
...and poster presentations.
During the rally on the day of the excursion, the participants got to know each other as well as the city of Halle. At this very moment, puzzles are being diligently solved at St. Paul's.
Culinary wishes were also best catered for.
Unfortunately, the weather did not always play along with the otherwise smooth process, so that the helpers had to grill on the first evening under difficult conditions.
The four IPB PhD spokespersons and organizers of the PSSC 2017 David Edeler, Ulschan Scheler, Ammar Jaber and Sarah Scharfenberg (from left to right) did an excellent job.
