Family support - A top priority at the IPB

The Institute is very committed when it comes to balancing work and family life for its employees. In recent years, we have developed a wide range of measures to achieve this.

These are in detail:

  • Possibilities to organize working time flexibly and family-friendly
  • Flexitime arrangements
  • Part-time jobs
  • Individual distribution of weekly working hours
  • Home offices
  • Family-friendly arrangement of seminars and similar
  • Individual parental leave agreements
  • Training opportunities, also during parental leave
  • Use of special leave and work exemptions
  • Help in finding daycare
  • Parent-child room in the institute

Dual Career

The IPB has been a member of Dual Career Network Mitteldeutschland since October 2010. The central concern of the network is the professional integration of both partners in the region of Central Germany. Our aim is to strengthen the balance between career planning and family, among other things through the measures mentioned above.

Family as a success factor

Since September 2022, the IPB has been a member of the nationwide company network "Success Factor Family".

The company network "Success Factor Family" was founded in 2007 by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce as a central platform for family-friendly companies. Since then, it has grown continuously and now includes more than 8,700 members, ranging from micro-enterprises to DAX-listed companies.

We are aware that corporate culture is crucial to ensuring that all employees can benefit from the work-life balance. Our goal is to benefit from both experience and good examples from other companies through networking.

The parent-child room

The IPB has had a parent-child room since 1 August 2013. The room is located on the upper floor of the IPB library and offers a quiet retreat for IPB employees, their relatives, guests and their children.

Equipped with a desk, PC and printer as well as a lovingly furnished play corner, it offers the opportunity to combine work and childcare for a while. The room is accessible at all times and can also be used outside regular working hours.
