Finally on site again! On May 12 and 13, 2022, the IPB again hosted its annual Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium. After a pandemic break in 2020 and an online symposium last Spring, about 80 participants finally met again this year in Halle an der Saale. The theme of this year's meeting was "OMICS in Plant Science." Renowned speakers from Europe and the USA presented their research projects in genomics, transcriptomics, and especially metabolomics, including bio- and cheminformatic data analyses. They showed how they harness OMICS approaches to answer relevant questions related to biotic and abiotic stress, valuable natural products, and their biosynthetic pathways in plants. The symposium provided good impulses for all participants. Intentionally, this year’s thematic focus was chosen, because soon the strong metabolomics expertise at IPB will be consolidated and expanded by the establishing the Program Center for Plant Metabolomics and Computational Biochemistry (MetaCom).
