Serge Alain Fobofou Tanemossu nominated for Leibniz Dissertation Award

Every year, the Leibniz Association grants their Dissertation Award to two excellent graduates from their member institutes. The award is conferred in the categories "Humanities and Social Sciences" and "Natural Sciences and Engineering". For the 2017 Leibniz Dissertation Award, Dr. Serge Alain Fobofou Tanemossu from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry was recently nominated. As a graduate student at the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, he isolated and characterized novel natural products from St. John's wort species that could potentially serve as medically active substances. Professor Ludger Wessjohann and Dr. Katrin Franke supervised this doctoral thesis. Dr. Fobofou has been selected to be among the ten nominees that are invited to the announcement of the winners on 29th November at the Leibniz Association Annual Meeting in Berlin.
