Medical advancements, safeguarding of agricultural production and modern, healthy nutrition are not conceivable without development of active substances. Hence, identification, detection, invention and research of active substances as well as their efficient and eco-friendly production are among the major challenges to modern society. In the next five years, 20 Leibniz institutes will mount a joint effort in an inter- and transdisciplinary research alliance to tackle the task of actively shaping the future with active substances – for human, animal and plant well-being.
