On 14 March 2018, the IPB participated again in the Day of Vocational Training (Tag der Berufe) and welcomed ca. 60 guests, who came to find out about the vocational training offered at the institute. This year, the professions office management assistant, biological laboratory technician, and gardener for ornamental plants were presented, for which the training starts in summer of 2019. And of course, the trainers and trainees of the IPB have again offered practical insights into everyday working life. For example, you could have a look through the microscope, see how singling of seedlings is done, or visit a lab during a guided tour.
The Day of Vocational Training, an initiative of the Federal Employment Agency Regional Directorate Saxony-Anhalt-Thuringia, is held once a year - this time already for the 11th time. The event is aimed at 7th- and 8th-graders. To help early on with career orientation, around 1,000 companies in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia open their doors on that day. The IPB has been successfully training since 1993 and regularly takes part in the event.
