Of course in threes! Thus, the IPB is also represented three times in the recent annual report of the Leibniz Association. This is an excellent result, of which we are proud, because such a presence contributes very positively to our image inside and outside the Leibniz Association.
The first identification of the hourglass model during plant embryonic development by Dr. Marcel Quint (IPB) and Prof Ivo Große (MLU) was chosen as one of last year’s most important research news (chapter 3, “Research News”). Its investigation and the subsequent publication as cover story in the renowned “Nature” journal were done as collaboration between the IPB and the Martin Luther University. This meant an additional plus point on the issue of “Cooperation with Universities” (chapter 8).
The Leibniz Research Alliance “Active Compounds and Biotechnology”, which was established under the auspices of our executive director, Professor Ludger Wessjohann, led to an article in the category “Focus Areas”, and thus to the third reference to our institute in chapter 5.
