The Designer Glycans group recently participated very successfully in the 7th International Conference on Plant Cell Wall Biology (PCWB2021), where the IPB scientists headed by Catalin Voiniciuc discussed their latest, as yet unpublished results. While Madalen Robert won one of the three offered presentation prizes with her talk on modular engineering of cellulose synthase-like enzymes, Annika Grieß-Osowski scored with her poster on biodiversity of heteromannan-producing enzymes from across the plant kingdom. She also took the opportunity to present the efficiency of the yeast expression system for heteromannan production developed at IPB. Her poster was also awarded a prize.
The PCWB 2021 was originally scheduled to take place in Sapporo, Japan, but was held online for the first time this year. A total of 273 cell wall experts from around the world participated with 80 oral and 86 poster presentations. We congratulate our winners!
