About 30 startup entrepreneurs from the Brazilian Amazon basin were guests at IPB on 8.12.22. The event took place as part of the innovation program for the development of innovative bioeconomy companies in the Amazon region named Inova Amazônia and was initiated by the Weinberg Campus Accelerator. Getting to know each other, networking, and exploring new markets were at the top of the agenda of the group on its tour to the local companies and research institutions of the technology park. At IPB, Martin Dippe and Pascal Pecher presented their projects on enzymatic syntheses of plant-based sugar substitutes, flavor enhancers and bitter maskers. In keeping with this, tea made from the sweet-tasting leaves of the Japanese Hydrangea plant and also stevia leaves were offered for tasting. Our guests were extremely interested and asked many questions. Prof. Wessjohann also contributed to the program. He presented additional research projects of his department in the Technology and Start-up Center.
