The Leibniz Research Alliance “Bioactive Compounds and Biotechnology” cordially invites all interested persons to join the conference “Wirkstofftage 2014” in Berlin. The two-day event from 28-29 April 2014 stimulates the communication about research of bioactive compounds, their biotechnological production and their application. Beside scientific presentations of current research topics from various Leibniz institutes of the alliance, the program is enriched by keynote lectures (from Prof. P. S. Low, Purdue University, USA and Prof. M. Kalesse, Universität Hannover, Germany) and contributions from topic-related companies. The Leibniz Research Alliance “Bioactive Compounds and Biotechnology” with 17 Leibniz institutes of various disciplines unifies the broad research in the Leibniz Association regarding small molecules that show biological effects. Thereby, not only the discovery or synthesis of bioactive agents is in the research focus, but also the resource-conserving biotechnological production, the application with its related societal and economic values as well as safety aspects.
