Festive colloquium on occasion of Prof. Scheel's retirement
On April 13, 2018, on the occasion of the retirement of Prof. Dierk Scheel, the IPB hosted a festive colloquium. Since 1994, Prof. Scheel has headed the Department of Stress and Developmental Biology and held the Chair of Developmental Biology at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. 1998-2004 and 2005-2007, he was Managing Director of the IPB. At the festive colloquium, Prof. Scheel's accomplishments were honored during welcome addresses, a laudatory speech, and a scientific lecture. Here, you can see impressions of the event.

Laudator Prof. Thorsten Nürnberger from the ZMBP Tübingen reviews the stages of Prof. Scheel's scientific career with many an anecdote.
He makes the audience laugh more than once.
And also the laureate himself is visibly amused during the laudatory speech, which Nürnberger presents as an excellent mixture of heartfelt retrospective and professional appreciation.
In his lecture, Prof. Schulze-Lefert from the MPI Cologne reviews the research accomplishments of Prof. Scheel and gives an insight into the latest results from his own research.
The Department of Stress and Developmental Biology eagerly awaits to present their gift.
