His trainer and his head of department are full of praise for him: "Sascha is smart, communicative, always curious and interested, and also helpful and friendly," is the unanimous verdict of Katja Baumann-Kaschig and Steffen Abel about their recently graduated biology laboratory technician Sascha Höhne. In addition to these fine character traits, he also performed excellently above all. He completed his training from September 2019 to January 2023 in the Molecular Signal Processing department with aplomb and outstanding success. With an average grade of 1.0 at the Anhalt-Bitterfeld Vocational School and "grade 1" in the final examination at the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), he delivered impressive final scores. As a result, not only was he honored on 7.11.2023 at a ceremony of the IHK, but he also received the Leibniz Trainee Award, which was presented to him on 21.11.2023 during the Leibniz Association's annual conference.

With this award, the Leibniz Association honors the three best of the approximately 300 young people who have completed an apprenticeship at a Leibniz Institute each year. In addition to a very good performance, the jury also takes into account the proposed award winners integration into the host organization and their social commitment. And with respect to those criteria, Mr. Höhne could also shine. He volunteered as the representative for the trainees at the institute and, together with Ms. Baumann-Kaschig, was involved in organizing Girls' and Boys' Days and supervising student interns. He also actively supported the lab classes for Master's students as part of the IPB Master's module in Plant Biochemistry and acted /thoughtfully and reliably as usual. Now the young professional graduate can proudly accept the prize money of 2000 euros and continue his job at the IPB for the next few years with just as much enthusiasm. We congratulate him warmly!
