20th IPB anniversary+ 80th Parthier birthday
The atmosphere was joyful and the mood relaxed when IPB staff members celebrated the 2oth anniversary of the institute’s re-founding on 14 September 2012. High-profile guests from academia and politics met many former comrades-in-arms who commitment was instrumental in management and support in the past two decades. This festive event was also the occasion to celebrate the birthday of the IPB Founding Director, Professor Benno Parthier, who prudently and competently steered the fate of the institute into the new academic system of the FRG. Thus, on the New Year’s Day 1992 the Institute of Biochemistry of Plants (IBP) became the Institute of Pflant Biochemistry (IPB).
