Postdocs
On average, about 26 postdoctoral researchers are employed at IPB per year, who are funded through external scholarships, raised third-party funds or institute funds. The group of postdocs annually elects a representative and at least one deputy. The representatives act as spokespersons for the interests of all postdocs towards the IPB Board of Directors and the research group leaders.
A large number of postdocs are carrying out independent research projects, including tutoring and support of technical staff and PhD students as well as students in bachelor's and master's courses. In addition, the scientists are actively involved in university teaching activities by IPB members (e.g. organisation of guest lectures, supervision of internships). Research results and findings are presented by postdocs at national and international conferences. Their participation in such events is supported by the institute.
The IPB always strives to promote the young scientists of the institute. For more information about scholarship programs for young researchers, please visit our page Scholarships and Financial Support.
