Tasks and aims of the research group

  • Build-up and maintenance of a data base with mass spectra of organic compounds and biomolecules with links to further molecular properties; indexed storage of mass spectra in relational data base structures
  • Development of tools for the interpretation of the isotopic fine structure in mass spectra of organic molecules
  • Development of tools for the analysis of mass spectra of mixtures of organic compounds, accruing after the chromatographic cutting-off process of plant exctracts, based on the solution of linear dependent systems of equations; rationalisation of the MS analysis
  • Cooperation at the "Phytobase"-project, a data base containing structural, chemical and spectroscopical data of natural compounds, based on the SciDex data base structure (cooperation with the department "Bioorganic Chemistry", Prof. Dr. L. Wessjohann
