Promoting young natural products researchers at the Naturstofftreffen
On October 13th, 2017, the 54th Naturstofftreffen (Graduate workshop on natural products) will be hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena (Germany).
The 54th Graduate workshop on natural products will take place October 13th, 2017 at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena (Germany). This meeting has a long tradition, bringing together research groups from the universities of Bayreuth, Würzburg, Munich and Leipzig, as well as from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry Halle and the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology Jena. Under the direction of their professors, the graduate students present and discuss their latest research results twice a year. Thus, this workshop format has evolved into an important means to promote young scientists in the field of natural products chemistry. This time, the special evening lecture will be given by Professor Peter Leadlay from the University of Cambridge, whose research interests are in the genetics and enzymology of natural product biosynthesis.
