Public Relations

Welcome to the Institute of Plant Biochemistry. Our institute endeavors to communicate actively with the press and public. On this and the following pages, you will find information about the past and present activities in public relations:

• Scientific reports inform you about the recent results of our scientific work as well as about interesting financial details of the institute. Whereas the German report is published every year, the English one will be produced biannualy. A copy of this report and previous English and German reports can be obtained from our public relations office. If you are interested in our annual reports, send us email.
• Towards the end of the year, we publish our research highlights as a bilingual flyer. Four of the best papers of the year are selected and summarized in easy - to - understand language. Our highlight flyer in German and English can be sent to you on request.
• A German and English leaflet contains the basic information and names of contact persons at the institute. The public relations office also distributes these leaflets.
• On the occasion of special public events or scientific successes at the institute, we release our news items to the press. All our press releases so far have only been published in German. They are sent out by email. We would be happy to add you to our mailing list.
• Practical training and guided tours.The IPB organizes guided tours through the institute for school classes and senior groups. If you are interested, please contact our public relations officer.
• In a limited manner, there is the possibility for high school students to absolve a practical training in the labs of our institute. Our public relations officer Sylvia Pieplow will make the contact to the responsible persons.
• Presentations In the past years we have produced several multimedia presentations that inform you about the scientific work at the institute. If you would like to know more, then click here!
• Exhibitions With our exhibitions we would like to communicate with you in another way about science. In most cases the exhibits are made by former scientists and refer directly to scientific themes and topics. From time to time our institute houses these scientific forums. Probably you want to know more or are interested in our virtual gallery.
• Events Open House day or the Long Night of Science our guests have the possibility to view the labs and greenhouses of the IPB. Public events also include participation in trade shows and other presentations. You can see a short overview about past and future projects here.
